Westlake Visitor Information

Helpful information to ensure your visit to Westlake is seamless and enjoyable, meeting all your expectations.

Directions

Located at the foot of the Muizenberg Mountains, Westlake Golf Club is easily accessible from the M3 freeway.

  • At the end of the M3, turn right onto Steenberg Road.
  • Follow the road around the course, then turn left onto Westlake Drive, which leads into Westlake Avenue.

 

Transport Tips:

  • Uber or car rental is recommended.
  • Pre-arrange transport to ensure timely arrival.
  • Weekday traffic, especially in Claremont, can cause delays.
  • Need a ride after your game? We’re happy to assist with collection arrangements.

Golf Bookings

We encourage visitors to book in advance before arriving in South Africa and or Cape Town. Alternatively, upon arrival, you can contact us at 021 788 2020 or visit us in person for booking availability. Our office is happy to assist with all your booking inquiries.

Carts and Clubs

Golf carts and rental sets are available for hire at the Pro Shop 021 788 2020 to book.

Rentals are subject to availability, so we recommend reserving in advance, especially for golf days. We offer rental golf sets for all skill levels—speak with the Pro Shop to find the perfect fit for you.

PLAYING FEES

Dress Code

While strict dress codes are less common, golfers and guests must remain neat and presentable.
 
Golf Course Attire:
  1. Only recognized golf attire is allowed.
  2. Shorts, skirts, or skorts must be mid-thigh; no running shorts or beach wear.
  3. Trousers must be smart casual; no denim or ski pants.
  4. Gentlemen’s shorts with belt loops require a belt.
  5. Wear soft-spiked golf shoes with socks; no sneakers allowed.
  6. Accepted golf shirts/blouses only.

Clubhouse Attire

Please maintain a neat and tidy appearance. Casual wear is welcome, but should be appropriate (e.g., no sleeveless tops for men or offensive T shirts). We appreciate your support in upholding our club’s high standards, and management reserves the right to determine suitable attire.

Pace of Play

The expected time to complete 18 holes at Westlake is 4 hours and 20 minutes. Unless specified otherwise by the competition format, a 10-minute break is allowed after the first 9 holes—perfect for a quick bite and refreshment before continuing your round

The guidelines for times are as follows:

  • First 9 holes: ±2 hours and 10 minutes
  • Halfway stop: ±10 minutes
  • Second 9 holes: ±2 hours and 10 minutes
