Ladies

The Westlake Ladies section is a lively and active group of members. The official Ladies competitions are played on Tuesday afternoons. There are various other groups of lady members who also play regularly on Thursday morning with the Early Birdies and Saturday morning with the weekend competition.

Our Ladies compete in the Women’s Golf Western Province leagues, which run from January to October each year.

The Ladies section is represented by the Lady Captain on the Main Committee and supported by a Ladies committee.
The success of this section owes a great deal to the contribution of each and every lady member and also the generous sponsorships received.

There are several annual Ladies events, the biggest being the Westlake Ladies Open in September. Many ladies from clubs all around the Western Cape enter this fun filled event. In addition to this the Ladies assist with other charity events and regular Mixed Open events on Sunday afternoons which are very popular and well supported by the Western Province golfing community.

Westlake Golf Club always welcomes new Lady members. In addition, the Ladies Section offers an introductory programme for any beginners wishing to get a feeling for the game of golf.

Seniors (W.A.G.S)

At Westlake we have a fantastic and active group of senior members. The WAGS (Westlake Aged Golfers Society) is a recognised section within Westlake Golf Club and their competition takes place on a Tuesday morning.

The WAGS are an autonomous section of the Club and organize their own tournaments and competitions. The WAGS affairs are managed by three members elected from within their ranks. The elected officials are:

David Draude – Spokesperson
Mike Manson-Smith – Tournaments
George Poulsom – Treasurer

To participate in a WAGS Golf day you need to be a member of Westlake Golf Club and be 55 years or older. However, guests are always welcome and are accommodated in the field by prior arrangement and permission from the elected officials. Please contact one of the WAGS officials to find out how to get a game. Come and make new friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
